Bangkok’s Green Mile Update: Still Under Construction but Worth the Wait

I wrote about Bangkok’s Green Corridor, the beautiful elevated walkway connecting Lumphini Park and Benjakitti Forest Park a while back. If you missed it, you can check out the original post here.

A few months later, it’s time for an update. Work on the Green Mile officially started in June 2025. True to Thai fashion, predicting an exact completion date proves difficult, like trying to guess Bangkok traffic on a Monday morning. Consequently, while officials have announced no firm timeline, I expect the walkway will remain closed for at least another three months.

Do not let the construction stop you, however. You can still move between the two parks by passing through the small local “village” located beneath the Green Mile. This slightly different route gives you a glimpse into everyday Bangkok life that many visitors miss.

Once completed, I believe the Green Mile will surpass its former condition—especially for cyclists. The upgrades seem to focus on smoother pathways and improved accessibility. Therefore, this project should create one of the most scenic urban routes in the city.

I will continue to monitor the progress and share another update once workers finish the job. Both Lumphini and Benjakitti remain must-visit green escapes in the heart of Bangkok until then.
